If you are interested in an HVAC solution that will keep you comfortable all year without the need for natural gas, this MRCOOL Olympus Ductless Heat Pump Split System is a great choice and only uses electricity. Ductless heat pump units are becoming more and more popular for a couple of reasons, they offer zone technology and there efficient components. All of your air handlers connect to one condensing unit and with inverter technology, the compressor modulates to meet your demand without sacrificing performance. Zone technology also allows you to turn off air handlers if you are not using that specific zone. After all, why spend money creating comfort in an area that you are not using? Although its not advisable to shut your system off during cool winter nights, you can turn the temperature set point down a few degrees and only run the zone as warm as you need to, protecting your home from damaging cold temperatures.
The 36,000 BTU MRCOOL Olympus ductless heat pump split system comes with two zone ceiling cassette air handlers. Each air handler comes in a height of 10 inches and 8 inches which should fit in your ceiling space. This package comes with a pre-charged outdoor condensing unit, pre-insulated lineset and wireless remotes for your convenience. The air handler that is sized at 12,000 BTU is ideal for spaces 450 to 550 square feet and the 24,000 BTU air handler is ideal for spaces around 1200 square feet. Ceiling cassette air handlers give you the option of installing a ductless heat pump solution without taking up wall space.
The MULTI4-36HP230V1 condenser at the heart of this MRCOOL Olympus Ductless Heat Pump Split System delivers more or less performance as needed, resulting in 36k BTU of capacity with a 22.5 SEER. Inside, this system offers dual-zone capacity with a 24k ceiling cassette air handler for the main space, and a 12k ceiling cassette unit for an additional smaller area.
